The story of Hyacinthus and Apollo is a timeless tale of love. Hyacinthus, a young man from Amyclae in Laconia, was admired by Apollo until a tragic accident ended their romance. Out of the tragedy a beautiful flower sprang, the hyacinthos, in memory of the young man. Spartans held the Hyacinthia festival to commemorate and celebrate Apollo and Hyacinthus' love with ritual mourning and joy. This lightweight and airy scarf pays homage to the love between Apollo and Hyacinthus, a reminder that love is love.
