Excavations in 1964 at the Greek town of Lefkandi, led by Mervyn Popham and Hugh Sackett, uncovered the Xeropolis settlement and a cemetery on the opposite hillside. Digging deeper, they discovered an incredible wealth of treasures - including a 36 cm ceramic figure of a centaur. Showcasing Protogeometric decoration from head to toe, this remarkable find has stood the test of time.
